Constant Change
The brief was to commission a monumental sculptural work for the main foyer of the then new Barclays world headquarters.
After a process of considering over 30 artists, 7 were finally asked to submit scale maquettes and Tony Cragg won the commission. I oversaw the process of discussing the initial conception, to the process of creation at Cragg’s studio in Wuppertal and nearby foundry to its final installation at Barclays headquarters. A fascinating and insightful process from inside the mind of an artist, via a visceral industrial process of making, to final polished artwork.
